In the Moment

I think I am stating the obvious here and you know it, I know it....we know it is good for you...its about living in the present, taking the time, take the rush out, the busy out and see, feel, hear, experience this moment.

For me, when I am on the beach or in the mountains taking a walk, living in the now is an easy thing to do.  It is a great joy to breathe in the fresh smells and listen to the birds, and hug a tree.

What about when you are in the office, fluero lights, plastic chairs, computers flashing ....well you know what I mean.   You find you go through each day more often on auto-pilot and the Now becomes blurred.

You may hear yourself, or others say, "What happened to that day", or " Where did the week go". "Time is going so fast and I don't seem to be getting anywhere".

Living in the now does take conscious thought and the more you practise the easier it becomes.

Here is a simple tip...

When you are feeling rushed, when you are feeling the day has taken control and you are feeling overwhelmed.....Take notice of your breathing. Take slow deep breathes.
Time will slow down, your mind will take in the present, you will find yourself living more in the moment.

The more you live in the moment, the more fulfilling life gets.
The more you live in the moment, the more you will make rational choices and decisions.
The more you live in the moment, the more you will review what you are doing and why you think, act or react to a situation.

For me,  meditation and nothing fancy here, just a quiet moment, music and paying attention to my breathing has made it easier  to be in the Now for the busy times.
It takes practise and you build up the habit. Find meditation music that you feel comfortable with, give yourself 10 minutes each and every day to listen and breathe deep and slow. Just focus on the breathing.

The more you practise, the habit you have developed will help you in your day. You can tap into that slow deep breathing and live in the Now.
